Biography

Jean-François is associate-professor at ISEN-Lille school of engineering. He got the Bachelor (2002) and Master degrees (2004) in Physics from Université Paris XI – “Magistère de Physique Fondamentale” (2004). He’s been working on Picosecond Ultrasonics and got a PhD from Université de Lille 1 (2008). He has been assistant-professor at Ecole Centrale de Lille and joined the Department of Materials Science and Engineering at the University of Arizona as Research Associate. His research covers many aspects of elastic wave propagation in periodic media, a field also know as Phononic Crystals. Current activities focus on controlling heat propagation in nanostructured materials and its application to non-conventional energy harvesting techniques.
